Trees

From the Window

Standing steadfast and tall with silent respect and not much attention at all. Quivering with the breeze, going with the flow, gently whispering hello. My eyes try to become yours, I am you, you are me; just to show me what it's like to be a tree. To be tall and immovable yet, inescapably free. You know the world as the silent observer and seem to ask that we only stand quiet long enough to hear what you hear and feel what you feel.

As standing guardians to this world all you request is simplicity; needing just water, nutrients and sun all while offering the staples of life to the unaware passer. Prana, abundance and without question, love. As many stand before you and sit beneath you, you offer wisdom while exchanging no words. How do we connect? What's the secret? Are you me and I you?

I watch you from my window with reverence, I hear your song; uplifted and now, strong. I can be the immovable tree, and free. You grow around your scars and still remain as you were, finding a glimmer of sun and move towards the light and into the dark. Your growth continues if we only stand beside you and breathe.

The Tree

I watch the world go by and whisper only with the wind. I ask for little and that's okay because I support you and that supports me. I have much to share but cannot speak your modern language clear, although you used to speak mine, you just forgot how to hear. I can show you what I know if you are quiet enough to feel. Let your conscious grow, and you will gain knowledge that is centuries and millennia old.

Stand before me or sit beneath me, believe me, you matter. I offer shelter, prana, and healing not idle chatter. Sometimes it can be seen that life is all in vain, because see, predators come causing you to strain. I choose not to see it that way because all things have their purpose out in the fray. The squirrels that rest within, the insects that use my bark for food and shelter, birds use my twigs for homes, and I'm cut down and used for paper. I offer myself to the grand design, show you how to steadfastly stand, expanding your vines to love and thrive.
